Known as the “King of Rock Teas,” Dahongpao is one of the four legendary Wuyi Yancha cultivars, grown in the heart of Wuyishan, where steep cliffs and mineral-rich soils create a uniquely ideal environment for rock tea. This exceptional tea is harvested from bushes aged 20–30 years, cultivated in the semi-rock zone of the Wuyishan core scenic area—a terroir famous for its towering stone walls, balanced humidity, and rich biodiversity.

This tea is crafted using traditional three-stage charcoal roasting, a technique that balances the tea’s vibrant liveliness with a full-bodied smoothness. The dry leaves exude an aroma of deep roast and floral warmth, while the brewed liquor glows a vivid amber-orange, like sunlight at dusk.

Dahongpao from this origin delivers a perfect fusion of roasted fire and floral elegance. Each sip reveals a deep, resonant body with a signature “yan yun” (rock rhyme)—a mineral-rich, lingering sensation that echoes in the throat. The taste is bold yet refined, with a distinct backbone like “bone hidden in the brew,” and the leaves open to reveal red-edged green leaf patterns, a sign of excellent craftsmanship.

Perfect for Gongfu-style brewing, this tea opens up fully with repeated infusions, offering evolving layers of toastiness, floral brightness, and depth.
