FAQS
FAQS
Where is your tea from?
All of our teas are sourced directly from trusted producers in Fujian, Yunnan, and Zhejiang — China’s most respected tea-growing regions.
Is your tea organic?
Our teas are naturally grown without pesticides or additives. While we don’t pursue organic certification (to keep costs fair), we work only with growers we know and trust.
How fresh is your tea?
Very. We release our teas in seasonal batches, and most are picked, processed, and packed within weeks of harvest.
Do you offer sample packs?
Yes — many of our products include free samples, often from our latest small-batch experiments.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we offer international shipping. We don’t profit from shipping — we simply charge what it costs. But with recent changes in duties and freight rates, we’re no longer able to offer free shipping. If an order gets unusually large, we may step in to limit it — not to inconvenience you, but because we honestly think the shipping just isn’t worth it.
That said, feel free to email us — we’re happy to help you find a more affordable shipping option together.
Why is your shipping so expensive?
We understand — international shipping can seem costly. We don’t inflate product prices to hide shipping fees, and we won’t cut corners by using unreliable carriers just to save a few bucks. The shipping cost you see reflects the actual price we pay for safe, high-quality delivery — no markup, no hidden charges. In fact, we sometimes end up covering part of the cost ourselves. Just like you, we’re hoping for better global shipping rates too.
How long will it take to receive my order?
Most orders arrive within 8–14 business days, though timing may vary depending on your country’s customs clearance process.
Please note: because international shipping is involved, tracking may show a status like “waiting for shipment” for several days. In many cases, the parcel has already been shipped — the next tracking update will appear once it clears customs in your country.
Why does my tracking still say “not picked up”?
This status is determined by the carrier. If you're located in the U.S. or certain countries in Europe, it's common for tracking updates to appear only after your package arrives in the destination country.
But don’t worry—your order is on its way. You're always welcome to reach out to us at any time, and we’ll gladly keep you updated. In most cases, your tea will arrive safe and sound within 8–14 business days.
Are duties and taxes included in your prices?
For most countries — including the US, UK, and countries across the EU — duties and sales taxes are included in our listed prices.
For full details, please refer to our Shipping & Delivery Policy.
What if my item arrives damaged?
We carefully pack each item to minimize breakage. If your order arrives damaged, email us within 3 days with photos of the item and packaging. We’ll make it right.
How do I request a refund?
We offer a 30-day refund policy as long as the packaging is unopened.
You’ll need to cover the return shipping cost and any applicable fees.
Please note: due to the perishable nature of tea, we do not accept returns shipped via sea freight.
What about pesticide residue and safety testing?
All of our teas meet China’s national safety standards and come with official test reports.
Due to the number of products we carry and language differences across countries, we’re happy to provide specific reports upon request — just email us with the product you’re interested in.
I loved one of your sample teas — why can’t I find it on your website?
Great question! Most of our sample teas are handmade in small batches.
Sometimes we wait until we’ve collected enough feedback before offering them for sale. Other times, the tea we used for samples has already run out for the year — or the weather may have affected the crop (like low rainfall changing the flavor).
If there’s a sample you really loved, feel free to email us. We’ll do our best to check with the tea maker — and trust us, they’ll be thrilled to know someone enjoyed it that much.
Can you provide gift packaging?
In most cases, our standard packaging should work well — we’ve put thought into it to ensure each tea is stored properly depending on its type.
That said, if you’d like extra packaging, you can purchase it separately on our packaging page.
To be honest, we don’t believe in making the packaging fancier (or pricier) than the tea itself — that would feel like a disservice to the tea.
Can I request a custom tea order?
Yes, we do offer custom tea orders — feel free to contact us for more details.
Customizing tea can be quite complex, as it depends on origin, seasonal yield, and weather conditions. We’ll need to evaluate feasibility on a case-by-case basis. If a custom order isn’t possible, we’ll always be transparent and explain why.
Is your tea safe for children to drink?
In China, we generally don’t recommend giving tea to children — especially in the afternoon or evening — as it may affect their sleep.
That said, if you’re using it to make milk tea or preparing it in a lower-caffeine way, it can be fine in moderation. It really depends on how the tea is brewed and how sensitive your child is to caffeine.
If I visit China, can I come to your teahouse and try your teas?
Absolutely — you’re more than welcome to visit! You can taste our latest teas free of charge.
Just let us know in advance so we can arrange someone who speaks English to host you. (Apologies — at the moment, we can only offer service in English.)
I’m new to tea — any tips on what to buy?
Since taste can vary a lot from person to person, it’s hard to make one-size-fits-all recommendations.
We suggest reading the product descriptions to see what stands out to you — and starting with one of the more affordable teas to get a feel for it.
Also, be sure to try the sample packs we include with most orders — it’s a great way to explore different styles.
Your tea is too expensive — can you make it cheaper?
Oh come on, friend… don’t do us like that 😅
For the quality we offer, we’re honestly keeping prices as fair as we can.
We even lost a bit recently thanks to changing import taxes — true story.
But when someone finds a tea they truly love from us, it means more than profit. That joy (yours and ours) is a big part of why we keep doing this.
Do your prices change often? Will there be promotions?
Our prices are generally stable — no need to stock up out of fear.
(That said, we can’t always predict changes in import duties... we usually just drink more tea and try not to stress about it.)
We do run promotions from time to time, especially on teaware. Tea itself? The discounts won’t be huge — but the quality stays steady.
I really love one of your teas — can I adopt the tea tree and receive all of its harvest?
This kind of arrangement is actually not uncommon among certain elite circles in China.
However, if you're based outside of China, we’d suggest approaching this idea with caution.
The cost is one thing, but more importantly, top-quality tea trees often produce extremely limited yields — and demand in China remains far greater than supply. Many of these teas are reserved in advance by long-time customers (and honestly, even we hesitate to drink some ourselves).
So if you’ve seen offers online about adopting a tree and receiving its full harvest — we’d recommend taking a closer look, as things may not be quite what they seem.
Do you have any social media accounts?
Not yet! We’ve been too busy enjoying tea to post about it — but maybe someday.
