Real tea, shared by real people

Numa Tea didn’t start as a business — it began as a friendship rooted in a shared love for tea.

We’re a small circle of friends with different backgrounds: some of us are artists, some are travelers, and some come from families that have worked with tea for generations. What brought us together wasn’t profit, but a quiet respect for craft, for nature, and for the kind of slow moments that tea invites.

Over time, this shared curiosity turned into something more. With the support of people we deeply admire — some a little unexpected — Numa Tea took shape.

There’s Mr. Andy, a German educator based in Vietnam, whose stories over tea are somehow always the most memorable. And Mr. Wei, a Chinese artist and stage director best known for helping create the iconic “Impression” performance series. He also happens to be a master of jade carving — and the kind of person who reminds you how rich one life can be.

We’re also lucky to work with partners who live and breathe tea.

In Yunnan, we collaborate with the founder of a respected tea house brand whose roots trace back to the Ming dynasty and the historic Tea Horse Road. He now runs a private tea museum in Lijiang and oversees a network of shops across China and Vancouver. His approach is deeply grounded in tradition, but always evolving.

In Fujian, we work with a third-generation tea grower who grew up on his family’s tea mountains. He’s soft-spoken, meticulous, and quietly proud of each batch he finishes. If you’ve ever received a sample pack from us — and perhaps a handwritten note — that was likely from him.

To protect their existing sales systems, we don’t publish brand names. But we can say this: we’re proud of who we work with, and the care they put into every leaf.
