Grown in the misty mountains of Enshi, Hubei Province, this Enshi Yulu green tea is a rare gem among Chinese teas — one of the few that still uses the traditional steaming process, a method more commonly associated with Japanese green teas. Harvested from tender spring buds, this tea offers a clean, vibrant liquor with a refreshing taste and smooth finish.
Pure Leaves, Spring Freshness
Only fresh tea buds and leaves picked in early spring are used to make this tea. The result is a clear green liquor, bright and lively, with a fresh and delicate vegetal aroma. The brewed leaves are tender and vibrant, reflecting the tea’s exceptional quality and minimal oxidation.
Steamed to Perfection
Unlike most Chinese green teas, which are pan-fired, Enshi Yulu is steamed at precise temperatures. This process locks in natural chlorophyll and amino acids, producing a smoother, more mellow flavor without any bitterness. The taste is soft, sweet, and subtly umami, with lingering freshness that makes it ideal for sensitive palates and frequent drinking.
Brewing Recommendations
For best results, use purified water cooled to around 90°C (194°F). Steep 3–5 grams per serving, with the first infusion lasting only 5–10 seconds. Suitable for glass teapots, gaiwan, or tall cups to appreciate the leaf's graceful unfolding.
